What people want from the next ten years of the NHS

Between March and June 2019, the Healthwatch network carried out 500 focus groups, attended 1,000 events and engaged tens of thousands of people online to find out what people want from the next ten years of the NHS.

When the NHS Long Term Plan was published in January 2019, NHS England asked Healthwatch England to encourage people across the country to share their views on how extra money from the Government should be spent on local NHS services.

This report reveals what 40,000 people told Healthwatch teams across England.

What did people say in our area?

Nearly 700 residents, patients and their families took part in the What Would You Do? campaign across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire.

The public were asked to give their views about how local services could improve, and to share ideas about how the NHS can help people live healthier lives and take more control of their care.

The report also details the results of focus groups around Primary Care Networks and Frailty/Ageing Well.
